What was the 'best' healing session you did?
My Step-dad and the Prince
When my step dad Malcolm said I could try energy healing with him I was really pleased. He was a beautiful big man with a heart as big as his big belly and his big hands.
I have never met anyone who could fit so many swear words into one sentence. A rough diamond with a huge character, one of his proudest moments was meeting Prince Charles as he walked past the pub Malcolm and my mum ran in Ripon, and inviting him in for a drink.
He was suffering badly with emphysema / COPD. I had a crystal dowsing pendulum and he knew a bit about dowsing as a friend of his had apparently dowsed for water using twigs when they were children.
I had not been practising healing for long and I told him that I try to find areas of ‘bad’ energy with the pendulum and he was happy for me to try it on him.
I put the pendulum close to his body and we watched in fascination as it span round wide and fast. As I am energy sensitive I also sensed what felt like a rush of electrical wind, and so I continued with this for about 20 minutes until the pendulum slowed down and the electrical wind sensation stopped.
We left it at that and amazingly he had an improvement in his symptoms of breathlessness the same night. He told me that he had not had to use his inhaler at all that evening where he usually used it at least 3 times.
Unfortunately his health was deteriorating in others ways and a few months later I was dismayed to see him looking very thin and obviously in a lot of pain. He was wild eyed, rocking backwards and forwards in an arm chair and the sight reminded me of the pain I was in when I was in labour.
My mum said that they thought it was because of a broken shoulder injury from falling down the stairs and that he had been unable to sleep in his bed because he was in too much pain to lie down so he had been sleeping in the chair.
He had been taking strong prescription pain killers for some time and my mum was keeping a record of it so that he wouldn’t take too many. But the pain was still unbearable. It was awful seeing him this way and I asked if I could try some healing again. What we didn’t know at the time was that the reason he was in so much pain was that he was dying with cancer, that it was in his spine and his liver, and that he had only weeks left to live.
Comfort at the end of life
I stood behind his chair while he sat there rocking and started the healing process. Again it felt like gusts of energy rushing through and was a really powerful experience. The next day my mum told me that he had slept in his bed for the first time in a long time and that he had not needed any prescription pain killers that day, and was coping with paracetamol now. He did not need strong pain relief again until the day he died several weeks later when he asked for morphine, and passed away shortly after.
Coincidence or something in it?
He gave me a testimonial. It said that I had done more for him in 3 sessions than 3 years of pills and inhalers. I put his testimonial on my website and I was asked to remove it by the Office of Fair Trading. I asked them if I can write an article about it because the possibility that energy healing can help with this sort of thing is something that interests me and that I think needs to be explored and discussed. They said that was fine.
Whatever the science of it was, I hope that I gave him some comfort at a time when he was facing the end of his life, and for that part I am deeply grateful.
